Demos prove an agent can complete a task once. Production requires workflow rules, trusted context, tool verification, permission boundaries, observability, and exception handling. Use this checklist before an agent touches real systems or customers.
Is the job explicit enough to define success, failure, and escalation?
Are authoritative data sources defined, current, and conflict-aware?
Are API actions verified instead of assumed to have worked?
Does the agent have the minimum access required for the job?
Can you measure accuracy, cost, latency, exceptions, and corrections?
Does the agent know when to stop and hand the decision to a human?
Use it to review an agent before granting real permissions, connecting customer data, or automating consequential actions.
Turning unclear human judgment into unreliable machine execution.
Giving an agent more data or write access than the workflow actually needs.
Assuming “task completed” means the business outcome was correct.
